On 30-31 October 2014, CEJA held its October Working Group on the subject of TTIP, the EU-US Free Trade deal, at Massey Ferguson headquarters in Beauvais, France. Participants consisted of over 30 leading young farmer representatives from across the EU, who first had the opportunity to tour the Massey Ferguson production plant before debating the subject of TTIP following interventions from both EU and US representatives, as well as the European Consumers’ Organisation (BEUC). The discussion was chaired by CEJA Vice President Alan Jagoe and the panel included speakers such as Mr. David Salmon, Agriculture Counselor from the American Embassy in Paris, Mr. Raimondo Serra, Deputy Head of “The Americas” Unit in DG AGRI and Ms. Clelia Imperiali, BEUC’s Trade Policy Officer. The discussions were lively and fruitful, and shouldlead to a more consolidated position from CEJA on the subject.
