23 October 2015
On 22-23 October 2015, the kick-off meeting for the Farm-Success which officially launched on 1 October 2015 took place in Freising, Germany which CEJA attended in order to meet between partners and discuss the timeline for the project. The Farm-Success project will aim to raise awareness of the challenges and importance of the succession process of family farms across the EU by providing training materials based on case studies of young farmers continuing their family business.
The kick-off meeting and the first transnational meeting for the Farm-Success project welcomed representatives from the eight project partners including CEJA to TUM Weihenstephan campus in Freising, Germany in order to introduce each other and commence the project. The kick-off meeting started with introductory presentations from each project partner, an explanation of the timeline of the project and allocation of tasks followed by presentations on the project budget, monitoring, evaluation, management and reporting procedures. This project, focusing on the issue of succession in family farms throughout Europe and the challenges involved in this process, is one which CEJA finds it particularly important to be involved in as an issue so relevant to the establishment of young farmers in the EU agricultural sector.
The Farm-Success project consortium is made up of eight project partners from six countries and will run from 1 October 2015 until April 2018.
