On 30 October 2014, the Commissioner for Agriculture and Rural Development Dacian Ciolos received CEJA President Matteo Bartolini as his last official appointment as EU Commissioner at his office in the Berlaymont building in Brussels, Belgium. As a thank you to the Commissioner for all the important work done for young farmers in his time in office, Mr Bartolini presented a gift to Mr Ciolos on behalf of all European young farmers, which you can see in the photos below. Commenting on the meeting, Mr Ciolos stated that: “Finding concrete tools to support a young generation of farmers has been a top priority for the last 5 years. […] This was just a start. Europe needs young farmers!”.
On 3 November, the new Commissioner, Phil Hogan from Ireland, will take from Mr Ciolos.
